Cheryl's paintings and drawings could best be described as "whimsical realism".

Cheryl paints flowers, the surrounding countryside of Monroe and Brown County, the sunrises and sunsets of Lake Monroe, many of her pets, and wildlife. Her preferred mediums are oil and watercolor paints and pencil. She also does paintings from her travels out west to Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming, and the ocean around Sarasota, Florida.
