It all started with using the scroll saw to make a rocker extension for a friend's business project. That was in 1987, and Tom has been going strong ever since. Now he uses the scroll saw to make small crosses for pins and necklaces and silhouettes — usually 8" x 10" but can be up to 11" x 17".

Tom's subjects are religious items, deer, eagles, wolves, and hummingbirds—including his favorites Mary and Jesus and St. Francis and Papa. Tom likes to incorporate a background landscape behind his silhouettes. He also enjoys the puzzles he makes of the different animals and from the scenes he has photographed in his travels.
